RFE for Polio vaccine for 18 years and older
Has anyone received RFE for polio vaccine for 18 years or older adults? Doctor is saying that it's a news for him. RFE says it is required as per updated CDC guidelines as of 1st May 2024.

@Pritesh Jain, @jj max - just one shot was sufficient for adults or series need to be completed?

@saurabh gupta did the RFE specifically mention polio was missing? what was the wording?
saurabh guptaNov 26, 2024
@a k - yes, it did mention polio vaccine specifically (OPV/IPV).

@saurabh gupta thanks! I also likely missed this detail and my civil surgeon marked as “age appropriate” without being aware of latest guidelines. I hope USCIS is not asking for a complete medical again because that takes 2-3 weeks time of its own in addition to the cost.

@saurabh gupta just one for polio

@a k - I got the vaccine from Walmart pharmacy and went to same doctor. They just copied the form from previous one and updated for polio. Don't think doctor will ask for another complete medical exam. I got my RFE on Nov 25th, went to doctor on Nov 26th and sent the response on same day. better to find where you can get polio vaccine as this is not available at CVS or walgreens.

@a k thanks for the info! yes Walgreens etc is not offering polio for adults. I am trying to get in touch with my PCP

@a k Try Walmart pharmacy or a pediatrician (self pay)

@saurabh gupta it turns out CVS “Minute clinic” (which is different from usual pharmacy) has polio shots available for adults. since this one is IPV and things we got during childhood were oral and not recorded, how did your civil surgeon enter into the table? there only option for either IPV or OPV in the form. I see conflicting information in CDC, that says “one lifetime booster” in one place and “two doses” few months apart for adults. Will USCIS be happy with just one or expect the course to complete
saurabh guptaNov 27, 2024
@a k for adults, 1 shot should be sufficient (as mentioned by doctor) none of the minute clinic in my area were having it. luckily walmart had. The shot is termed as IPV.

Hello- Same situation with my interview today. The IO was nice and things went well, now because of this polio requirement she asked me to submit that record and case will be approved . I got the shot today from cvs already but I am unsure if I need to go to previous doctor and have them sign off and attach this record to previously filled 693? how does it work , please let know, thanks in advance .
