Returned I-693 with rejected form I-131
I filled Forms I-485, I-765, and I-131 concurrently. My Form I-131 was rejected because it was not properly filled, but my Form I-693 was included in the envelope, already opened with their stamp. Anyone had this experience before? I have called their service center but couldn't talk to a life agent. Any suggestions on what else to do?

My guess is that your I-693 was returned because you can’t submit medicals if your priority date is not current. Medicals are only valid if they were done within 30 or 60 days prior to filing I-485.
Technically, you can only file I-485 when your priority date becomes current. Therefore, because your PD is not current, your medicals is not necessary at this time.
Filing concurrently doesn’t help evade the priority date wait. I stand to be corrected, though.

@Tola Matthew @Olive Green it’s not true
I had similar experience two weeks ago, my i131 was returned because I forgot to sign and the medicals were returned back with it, I was frustrated because I really need the i485 not the i131, I visited the civil surgeon and she said it’s ok, I am current ROW, I plan to sign, and give the civil surgeon to seal it back. kindly let me know what you come up with, the medical sent back already has uscis print on it dou

@Tola Matthew and@baby baby how long did it take before it was rejected and returned?

So, my PD is 10/20/2022, so it is current. My medicals was done and signed last September. I am from Nigeria if that is what asking about ROW means. My I-485 was accepted and I received the Receipt Notice a week before the rejection notice for the I-131 came. Everything was initially submitted on October 6.

@Tola Matthew what have you done and what do you plan to do.. am asking because I had same expwith you and I still don’t know what to do, my problem is not really the i131 that was sent back, my problem is the medical that already has their stamps in it,

In addition, I filed I-485, I-765, and I-131 for 4 other family members with me as the primary applicant. I got the Receipt Notice for all others except this my I-131. I believe that it was rejected because I forgot to sign mine, but the problem is the I-693 that was returned.

@Tola Matthew I see. Scrap my previous comments then. I didn’t know your priority date was current.
Off the top of my head, I would say maybe to do another medical and send both the old and new, plus perhaps a signed I-131.

@baby baby, that was the first question in my post. I wanted advise from the community. Since I didn't get any by this morning, I signed the i-131 and wrote a cover letter (I adapted a sample letter for a related case I saw online) explaining my case and sent back the whole thing to the address they provided. I also sent an email to the address provided in the letter, I got an auto response

Update: USCIS has sent the receipt notice for the I-131 I signed and sent back. I still don't know the fate of the medicals but I am hoping for the best!

@Tola Matthew did you pay a fee for the i131
Tola MatthewNov 18, 2023
@nana nana No. I didn't pay since they have received my I-485 and is pending. I put the Receipt Number of my I-485 in the cover letter I attached.
