@Meui Meui it's been over a year since I submitted RFE just wondering if there is any way to get an update

@Leemah L I’d recommend you don’t go sniffing around to look for a response after submitting an RFE. The few cases I’ve heard invited denial. While the long wait is daunting, the RFE in itself is an opportunity for you to get the case right. You don’t wanna give the reviewer the mind to zoom into any subtle error and deny you on those basis. Just my thought.

My priority date is November 2, 2023. I responded to the RFE on April 24, 2025. It went into active review on May 8, 2025, and so far, no response.

It’s usually best to seek advice from your legal person if you used one.

My PD is July 2023. I sent the response to the RFE on March 2024. It says actively reviewing your case since then.

After you respond to an RFE, the case moves from Request for Evidence to Case Was Received, which only confirms USCIS logged your response. The next status is Actively Being Reviewed / Your Case Is Still Being Reviewed by USCIS, meaning the case has been assigned to an officer, though not necessarily under review at that moment. The real countdown starts here: if a decision comes quickly, it may be approval or denial; if it stays in this status for months, it often suggests the case is “putting up a fight” rather than being denied right away. However, this logic mainly applies to RFEs issued in 2025. For RFEs issued in 2024, remaining in this status for months may follow a different flow and does not necessarily indicate that the case is “putting up a fight.”
