Renewing c9 EAD and AP based on pending 485
Hi Dear Friends,
like many of you, I’ve been waiting for my 485 priority date to become current for a good 3 years (33 mos actually). My combo card is expiring at the end of this month, and I filed the renewal 765 & 131 forms mid February.
I could see that the receipt noticed was sent on Feb21, but all I have received (as of March 03) is a “biometrics reuse” 797 document which says my renewal forms were received and biometrics info from last year will be reused.
Now I’m afraid my HR and DMV won’t accept this “biometrics reuse I797 document” as my EAD automatic extension proof. Have you received an actual receipt saying the current EAD will be extended?
I sent the application materials to Chicago as suggested by USCIS, but the biometrics reuse document was sent from NBC. Now I’m not sure if there is a receipt in addition to the biometrics reuse notice.

@Emma Ye Thanks for sharing. I have contacted USCIS twice through Emma but didn’t get much help. DMV approved my renewal application but the new DL will expire in a year. My HR just wouldn’t accept anything other than the receipt. So I’m just praying my receipt will turn up in my mailbox soon. Wish the same for you, Emma!

@Judy Joo Could you tell me what documents you gave to the DMV to renew your driver’s license, please? Today I received my receipt notice for EAD.

@Emma Ye great! when was your renewal application received? You’ll need your passport, 485 receipt, previous EAD approval, your 765 renewal receipt, and two recent letters with your current residence address on them.
