Yes, you can. I have done it in my RFE where USCIS needed more evidence for my case. I knew that one of my recommenders could provide additional information, so I asked him to write another letter addressing the specific questions. In this letter, he needs to mention that he has already submitted a letter and that this one is to provide further information in addition to what he previously submitted.
