Congratulations!! Could you let us a little about how the interview went? Thanks so much for sharing

@hong tran , they did my N400 first because the IO said he did not have my I-751 file and had requested it to be transferred. He saw that my husband was with me though. After the N400 interview , he told us to give it a couple of hours. He did ask a few questions about my husband and our kids during the N400. when we came back he had the file, he said he reviewed and approved everything but I missed the cutoff time for printing the certificate so I have to go back for oath ceremony once they schedule it

@D S , it was originally at Vermont and then transferred to Newark where I had my N400 interview

@santa ana n400, the questions were very simple. Name 1 Indian tribe, who vetoes bills, who makes laws, who is in charge of the military. After that it was the formality questions that are on N400. prior to it was fingerprints& pictures then I had to read and write a sentence and then I signed all the paperwork on the ipad. it was very quick. He then gave me the paper that said I was approved but he had to review I751.

@viv Bik Congratulations! Was it just the n400 interview or did you get the combo interview?
v
viv BikDec 17, 2023
@John Smith , I never received a letter for combo, I did however bring my husband to the interview. I submitted a lot of evidence when I applied for I-751 plus we have kids together. The IO told the hubs to just wait in the waiting room. He did the N400 with me and then asked a few questions (you are married to (name)?, you have 2 kids together (years born)? confirmed our address. At that time he was still waiting for my I-751 to get transferred. He said to return in 2 hours and when we did, he had reviewed and approved the I-751. He did not ask my hubs any questions at all. if your bona fides are strong, then no need but I would strongly advise you to bring your spouse to an N400 interview if you have a pending I-751

@viv Bik thanks for sharing. I’m thinking about it for next year (N400), I do have a pending I-751 and they sleep on these cases so I have no doubt I’ll apply for naturalization before they even look at my I-751….
John SmithDec 17, 2023
@viv Bik that’s good news then. same for me the first time (2 year GC) the agent said even before we sat in the room that we were approved….

@John Smith, I also wrote to my Senator, so if you do decide to apply for N400, get your Senator’s office involved if there is still no movement on I-751
John SmithDec 17, 2023
@viv Bik what did you tell the senator? I mean it seemed like your I-751 was still in the “normal” processing time
John SmithDec 17, 2023
by normal I mean slow as heck from our perspective but fast for the snails working at uscis

@John Smith , lol, yes. I feel like sometimes just raising an issue with their USCIS liaison helps. I had better luck with my EAD. I reached out and 10 days later I had EAD in hand when the wait time at that time was 8.5 months
