@jay c because after VAWA approval we are in so called “limbo” (between). we aren’t permanent residents yet. Work permit by itself is not a prove of legal presence because even people in deportation proceedings receive work permit.

Just meant you’re immune to deportation for the next 15 months, if your GC ain’t approved by then your lawyer will renew it, it’s a good thing nothing to worry about

@survivor p @Kenn Kenn. oh so everyone gets same grant? I heard before vawa approval used to give 2 years green card maybe it’s in olden days

Nothing to worry about..I got same too.You can’t get green card before VAWA approval ..you only EAD that’s work permit or combo card that’s work and travel .

@jay c Yes everyone with approved VAWA receives one because you can’t be deported once you have an approved vawa as you’re in a protected status
