Receipt letter
We sent in a packet for AOS and it was received early October 2025. As of today, we still haven’t received any receipt number or communication regarding the application.
Is it normal for the receipt number to take this long to arrive?
Is anybody in the same situation?

@Sun Shine how did you pay, were your credit card debited, I was in the same boat but my form was return and hanging at post office for days I went to post office and they look for it at where they kept it. if your card is charge it mean your application is accepted but if not charge they might likely return your application to you and you can check with post office

@Bee Col We paid by money order since the implementation date for the electronic payment rule was set for 10/28/25. Our petitions were received early October. Now I don’t know if the forms were rejected or not since my lawyer is the one that shipped the packet.
Can I go to any post office to ask them?

I submitted in the first week of October and i got the receipt number by text because I submitted that G-1145 form with it. i got the text after 4 days of mailing it. and got the paper receipt after 10-15 days. i paid with cashiers check from bank.

@Heet Patel It’s my first time hearing about the form G-1145, so we definitely didn’t submit that. We learn something everyday!
Do you guys think one month with no receipt number indicates there may be an issue going on?

@Sun Shine Your attorney should’ve told you about the G-1145 but some of them don’t understand it causes stress worrying about all these things vs getting updates which sets your mind at ease

@N RL🇯🇲🇯🇲 I absolutely agree with you. One thing I will advise anybody going through the immigration process is to be highly involved in every single step. A lot of us hire a lawyer and step back. Which can be dangerous if you fall on a non so competent one!
