Ready to Upload Documents (NVC Timeline)
June 2 midnight, we received our i130 approval.
June 5, USCIS case status: case is sent to Deparment of State.
June 6 morning, we received the NVC welcome letter (sent to both me and my wife via email)
In the NVC welcome letter, there are the NVC case number and Invoice ID number, both of which you will need to log in the CEAC system.
June 6 evening, we logged in the CEAC system and paid the fees.
(NOTE: petitioner fee and applicant fee need to be paid separately, credit cards NOT accepted)
Then the fees will be processed. During this time it showed ‘IN PROCESS’ on CEAC.
June 10, fees are received and it says ‘PAID’ on CEAC.
Now we can start uploading the documents for NVC.
- petitioner’s financial documents
- applicant’s DS260 form
- applicant’s civil documents

@Amarachi Igbo the documents might vary for each specific case. generally the sponsor/joint sponsor need to provide tax return and w2 for the most recent tax year. I’ve been working abroad so I don’t have w2 forms so we need a co-sponsor/joint sponsor(?) , their tax returns and w2s along with my tax return. Not sure about pay stubs but I think having them is better. We haven’t uploaded the documents yet so I’m not sure if what we prepared works. For payment you need to use a US checking/savings account.
