Quick question please 🙏🙏
Hello everyone. I am a K-1 petitioner, and my I-129F petition for my fiancé was approved on December 31, 2025. The case has not yet been transferred to the NVC. My fiancé is from one of the 75 countries that may be subject to a suspension. My question is: will my case still be transferred to the NVC despite the possible suspension, or could it remain at USCIS because of it?

Current Situation (January 2026):
Following recent executive actions, there is an indefinite suspension on visa processing for citizens of 75 specific countries (including many in Latin America).
Key Points:
• Transfer Status: While USCIS typically continues to transfer approved I-129F petitions to the National Visa Center (NVC), the process is likely to stall once it reaches the NVC or the Embassy stage.
• Administrative Pause: The NVC may delay issuing a case number or scheduling interviews while the government implements new "Public Charge" vetting rules.
• Current Status: The case is not denied; it is in an administrative limbo. This is a policy-driven delay, not a problem with the specific application.
• Wait Time: Applicants are advised to wait at least 60 days to see if the NVC issues a notification, though the suspension may last several months until new protocols are finalized.

Primarily immigrant visas (residence permits/Green Cards). Although the K-1 visa is technically a "non-immigrant" visa, it is processed almost the same as an immigrant visa because the goal is residency.

If the fiancé's country is on the 75 list, it is very likely that the process will stop once it reaches the NVC or the consular interview stage.

It is vital to confirm whether the fiancé's country is on the "full suspension" or "partial suspension" list, as some countries have exceptions for humanitarian reasons.
