if my memory is correct, they usually do the ffg; they check if he’s in need of certain vaccines if he does they’ll do it right there. xray of the lungs. draw blood. (drugtest incl.) interview (just confirming he is who the petition says he is.) his relationship with you etc.

Well each country is different but in my experience they wil do a physical and psychological evaluation, also if he needs vaccines or something like that the will do it.

for the person saying that they do interviews. will be in the persons native language. or should I tell my wife to get an interpreter?
