question my husband filed for divorce
my husband filed for divorce and I received a a summons letter that I have to respond it within 21 days and he used a lawyer. am in support of the divorce am glad he filed but there some lies in the summons paper saying I don't need spousal support as I have a job when I only work part time, accusing me of infidelity which is a lie he's been abusive to me and I have a healthy condition that I can't hold a full time job. we have both our names on our house and 41k. so how to I respond to this summons I don't have money to hire lawyers am saving up to start my life and not spend on lawyers I wish I can write that letter alone if I know and send it to the court. we only been Margot 2 years and my green card came last year Nov. do I need to respond to summons or it doesn't matter since he filed or I need a lawyer to help me write that letter

there are some churches and community centers which provide legal services to people in need. they charge nothing to nominal fee. you can look around in your area for that. secondly if a person can’t afford a lawyer then court appoint a lawyer on his behalf you have to go to your local office for assistance.
