Hi ,
I am
currently waiting on my green card and my brother cousin sister who was a student in the USA(still in the us with OPT) is asking me to be help provide her bank statement for her i20 sponsorship,
my question is , I’m still waiting on my green card as well ,
am I eligible to help?
I read that only greencard holders and citizens can be sponsors.

I believe you have have to be a green card holder or permanent resident. we had to ask our lawyer that question for our case.

All sponsors must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents, be at least 18 years old, and be living in the United States when they file the affidavit support

@amalia this is not affidavit of support. You are eligible even foreigners are eligible. It has nothing to do with your green card application. it's prof of funds nothing else.

ask google the right question and you will get the right answers. Google who can provide bank statement for i120. It's not the same as who can sponsor someone in the US
