Question about MSC receipt number
Hi guys! I have a quick question! If my green card case starts with MSC, does it mean it’s being transferred to National Benefits Center. The reason I’m asking this is because I thought that my case is being transferred to Nebraska since I live in Virginia and I thought that anyone who lives in Virginia their cases are being transferred to Nebraska. I googled up and learned that each receipt code belongs to offices in different states such SRC belongs to Texas Service Center, MSC belongs to National Benefits Center in Missouri, LIN belongs to Nebraska Service Center, and so on and I didn’t know all of that stuff until like 1 month or 2 months ago.

@betababy July @innocent nchong you can ask emma and sometimes they have this info.
your case is at your FO because 1)you will get interview, 2)they just transferred it because they have to may cases.

@a Francis Thanks for your response! So, does that mean my case is being transferred to National Benefits Center and not Nebraska Center since I’m asylee and my case receipt number starts with MSC?
a FrancisJul 19, 2025
@Aya Musa that’s correct that’s where all asylee case is being processed now so that’s why most asylee have msc case number.
