processing time
hello again everybody,
I have a question regarding the processing time. My case was filed on Texas service center first, when I bugged Emma & was able to speak with a live agent said my case was sent to Nebraska service center. so my question is how does this processing time gets calculated? Does the processing time depends on the pd or they start recounting from the day the service center receives the case?
because when it was filed on the texas it said the processing time would be 10.5-13.5 & for Nebraska is different. They all are different than each other. I am confuse!!

processing time is just an estimate depends on the center. but not always accurate…it might say processing time is 10.5 to 13.5 months and it gets processed sooner…or it could go way passed that. with COVID things are a lot slower so it is possible to wait even longer not to discourage you. but you just never know really

processing time on USCIS is not an estimate but is based on what they approved in last 6 months (it was 1 month some time ago). USCIS publishes 50 and 93 percentiles of request processed by them. Now you can use it for future estimate but the problem is that requests/application are not spread around every month equally. Therefore it can be wrong but that's the best number available to us officially.

I get that, but my question is will my processing time would be upon the pd, or the first service center it was filed, or the current service center? I am confuse which one to follow.

what I believe is that current service center will matter. the receipt date for an application is fixed and that won't change. that's my understanding but happy to hear from others.

usually when transfer takes place, you should be notified by mail as well. Emma can sometimes provide incorrect information. Maybe keep asking this every week to see what they tell you.
