hello everyone I have a question. do you guys think once all PD 2020 completed USCIS will resume back from final action date July 2022 ? and date of filing September 2022. also I personally think there should be a restriction or cap for number of LC filled = number of visa available each year which is 10k for (unskilled) that’s the only way they can stop retrogression otherwise it will never stop because according to data there are more than 23k I-140 approved.

@sam young I think they might not retrict the LCs submitted, I think the way they handle the backlogs is they just don’t let people file their I485s like this. I don’t understand why they retrogressed in 2020 as in 2020 fewer foreign workers getting hired because of Covid-19 due to travel ristrictions, visa suspensions, and almost all business shut down, so the LCs submitted in this year might not much yet they spend 18 months for 2020 cases, do you think the shutdown from March 2020 to October 2020 contribute to this retrogression because the GC issued dropped during this period?
I think PD would gradually move back to July 2022. So just pray that the LC submitted in 2021 is not huge to resume back to July 2022 quicker.
Now they use chart A to file I-485 which I think they want to focus on issuing the backlogs more.

@sam young 2022 issues lots of GC and now they spend 18 months for 2020 and stop accepting new applicants since February 2023. idk if they can let people filling in February 2025 next year.
We have 6 months left for this Fiscal year 2024.

@waiting for gc honestly it’s been almost more then 18 months they have only moved 3 months forward. so I don’t think shutdown due to Covid is the only reason. it’s getting even more complicated due to retrogression as I said earlier there are more then 23k I-140 approved from this category and people are waiting to file I-485s. it’s been almost 3 years I’m in this process and I’m unable to file for (aos). I am clueless why they are still processing PD 2020 because FY 2021 was all current till May 2022
