Porting to new job that is not the same?
Hello folks,
Iβm thinking about porting to new job. My original position is Production worker- helper.
Is it possible to port to a new job that has tittle as Housekeeper, or Janitor?
They are also under EB3 other workers. What do you guys think? π€

@yellow banana π do you know the SOC code for housekeeper or Janitor?they should not be far from your SOC code in your I-140!Usually USCIS is loyal to such cases,.well, that's how it used to be!

@yellow banana π I am a farm equipment operator and wanted to change jobs to Truck driver, but my lawyer told me that I can't do it because the SOC codes are very different. But both jobs are unskilled.

@vitaliy 123 interesting π§ yes the soc code is totally different from my current job. Hmmm I thought we can change to anything as long as it is under eb3 unskilled.

@yellow banana π I wish that we can switch for any unskilled job , it would make the process a lot easier for usπ

Your new job's SOC code needs to be the same as your current job's, especially under new administration.

Nope, the SOC code doesnβt have to be the same but any job which is similar yo yours will work.
What matters is that the duties in your new job should be similar to your last one.
