Please I have a Question.
My wife’s is traveling back to Jamaica in 2weeks to see her family and I plan to go with her to finally meet my in laws. but I have a question, can I travel with the approval notice sent my USCIS or I should hold off until I receive my physical green card? am somehow confused on the laws requiring this situation. is there anything I can do to ensure I still make the trip incase I don’t receive my green card before our departure date?

unless you have advanced parole that’s still valid not less than 30 days beyond your expected return date from Jamaica.

you need a green card or advance parole. the approval letter will do you no good.

@Donald T if you have an approval notice, go with it at your nearest uscis office and they will stamp an I-556 inside your passport and with that u can travel and return without a problem. Your case is already approved. Tell them you want to go out of the country. Once you have an approved case, the AP is no longer necessary.
