Please be aware of USCIS mistakes
USCIS totally forgot about the cross chargeability rule in our case(spouses from different nationalities can use either nationality to apply). they kept our case pending for a long time even though priority date was current for one of the spouses.
the mistake was discovered when we reached out via senator - and they replied - priority date is not current. we reached out again via congressman clarifying the cross chargeability rule, then application moved very fast within 4 months everything is done.
If you're using cross chargeability rule due to being from a country with long waiting, please check with USCIS via senator to make sure they didn't forget about it.

@LM F all senator/congressman have a website, there's a way to reach out to them for "Help with a federal agency". usually congressman respond faster than senator, just go to their website
