because of everything happening right now, not to scare you at all but I think you should wait for your new green card to arrive and then go. I just don’t trust their extensions or anything else but the real thing.

if you are African with the extension and I don’t think it would be a problem unless otherwise, besides that means you are already in the system.

if you have to go, please go. if you can wait - how long can you wait?(751 takes months, that’s why they extended the expiry date to 48 months)

Jesus is king there is a reason for that 48 months extension , it’s only an extension of your residence so you can travel back and forth .

you can travel with your extension and 2yrs GC. However, with the present administration you wanna make sure you have no records on you because they not playing

I just came back to the US with my expired gc and my 48 months extension letter, i was out of the country from January 16 to 23, not problems at all, you should be fine.

@Mike D pls if you don't mind i got few questions, were you with the original extension letter plus your gc or just a copy? was there a separate line for gc holders and citizen from the visitors at the point of entry? what was the question asked by the officer? what airline did you go and come back with. thanks for your time

Hi, I've used my extension letter of 48 month twice and no issue to and fro. make use of straight airline, possibly Delta or united. you're good to go.takecare and God bless.🫡

Go with the unexpired extention letter and your expired green card. you're ok to go

A yes I took the original extension letter + green card and passport, it was the same line for gc holders and us citizens, visitors were on a different line... questions asked by the officer were, how long were you outside the US? And did you bring any food, like meat etc? I went to El Salvador and my airline was "Avianca" back and forth.

@D. A Airlines will always ask you for your extension letter when they see that GC is expired, just have the letter ready and hand it to the person that's helping you.

I never said that—someone else mentioned a photocopy of the extension letter, not me, bro. I said to travel with your unexpired extension letter and expired green card. Also, try to book a direct flight with Delta or United Airlines, as they are familiar more with the green card extension letter. I've gone with delta to naija twice un same way and no issue rara.
