i am an F1 student adjusting my status as C 9
I got selected by the dv lottery and I have been waiting for almost 6month now for my I 765.
I need to do my internship but I don’t know if I should rather wait for my work permit, can I apply for opt again?

I think for internship would CPT, wouldn’t it. I know OPT is when you graduate you can work for 1 year after graduation , but you need to find a job and apply for the OPT (I don’t know if you need to apply to the OPT first or need to have the job offer already, better to check with the DSO). It might be good to check with your immigration lawyer if there is no conflict between your 765 linked to an adjustment of status and a 765 due OPT.

@Joel Jean my case is 4 months and I don’t have anything yet as well. And I saw someone in another group yesterday that got her EAD 1 month after biometrics. And I still had a lot of extra stress last Friday because the wrong update USCIS did in a lot of people processes, saying that the case was closed (I765) because benefits were received by other means. people freaked out. Extra anxiety. Good lucky guys!
