Is waiting the only solution when your PD is current? I found this on the USCIS website :

Dates for filing
• It indicates which green card applicants are able to start their applications with the National Visa
Center or
USCIS even though a green card is not ready to be issued.

Final action dates
• Green card applicants are ready for approval if their priority dates are earlier than or at least meet the cutoff dates on this chart.

For both:
• Applicants living outside the U.S. should check dates for filing, whereas those in the U.S. may refer them depending on the instruction of USCIS every month.
