payments
it's so painful, I decided to use credit card for payment of my forms i-485 and i-765. total fee is $1,225. However it's rejected with the reason that the information of credit card we used is invalid. I just don't understand which part of it is invalid, USCIS didn't specify it. any advise based on your experience? Thanks

I think in short, they’re saying that the card’s information is invalid. check your card well cuz sometimes these cards 💳 needs confirmation or approval for larger payments when it’s first time used by strangers or at a strange location

@Victory: okay I will check that soon. Btw, I use my Father in Law's credit card, meaning the name popped up is not my name, is that acceptable?

That could be another reason or like I said some cards need approval for cashing out or payment of huge amount of money

Maybe you can do a money order to avoid delays

I sent money order before this, USCIS said they didn't receive it. Therefore this second attempt we used Credit Card. It's so nerve wrecking. I'm sorry to say this. Thanks

I understand your pain. Just try and get it done the best way possible and make sure someone sign for your package when it reaches USCIS’s office. it must be received and signed for the a person.

@Yang S... the credit card has to be either from the Applicant or the Petitionner. NO tierce person. It didn't go through because they didn't recognized the name on the transaction. USPS or UPS Money Order is the best thing in that case because you can track if it has been cashed or not. For you to know if it has been cashed, you have to give a maximum of time (like a month or so).

@Bayano, on my first application I did paid with money order but USCIS can't find it in my package. USCIS came back to me with rejection saying I haven't provide the filing fee, in fact the money order is clearly inside. That situation has driven me crazy to make refund with the USPS (USPS also made things difficult). therefore here is my second attempt to revise my application, I don't wanna use money order again. OMG it really drivese crazy
BAYANO PARKERFeb 10, 2022
@Yang S... Don't panic. the reason why I said a trackable usps money order is that when you get a notification of signature request that they provided + a picture you took the day you sent your package, where they can see you attached the money order at the beginning of the application, the fault will be on their end and they will investigate because maybe the money order might be mixed in between others files they might have on their table or somebody might removed it. With those people you have to be smart and cautious. Once you have all the proof and can show them, they will have no choice to let it go and work on your case. It was an advice from lawyers.

I have already solved my issue with money order, I have already got my money back after arguing with USPS officer. Thanks

@Yang S... oh ok. Good luck though. But with the bank card, it has to be either yours or your spouse to make it valid.

if the credit card doesn’t go through and for some reason you have to send the package again, use check from the bank. i never had issue with that

@Bayano & Domino thanks for the advice. 🙏🏼
