Patience is the ticket
In all, the COVID pandemic and the immigration policies of Trump slowed my case down drastically. I'm grateful that I am here finally. I got my social, driving license, FAFSA and more. Everything is going well.

Stephan OmoregieDec 9, 2023

My CaseDec 10, 2023
did one of your parents file for you? also, are you already in the US?
F2b WaitingDec 10, 2023
@Stephan Omoregie i’m just asking if you got your case approved after interview because my PD is june 2016 and bulletin has been stuck on sept 2015 since 3 years i had my interview in may 2022 officer said i have to wait for bulletin to cross my PD but it’s nice to know f2b is being considered maybe we have hope
Stephan OmoregieDec 10, 2023
Yes my case was approved after the interview. I am in the US now. I came here October 3rd 2023. Yes, you have to wait for your priority date to become current before your visa will be available for printing. It takes time but by this time next year, you should be here.
Stephan OmoregieDec 10, 2023
@My Case yes, my Dad filed for me.
chisom NwekeDec 11, 2023
@Stephan Omoregie
can I ask you a question?
My pd is Sept 2021
my visa class is f24
please how long do you think it will take for me to be DQ and get any interview date?
Stephan OmoregieDec 11, 2023
@chisom Nweke as things stand, your interview date should be within 2027 and 2028. This also depends on your country of eligibilities, how fast you assemble your documents for NVC and and error free D-260.
chisom NwekeDec 11, 2023
@Stephan Omoregie
my country is Nigeria
Stephan OmoregieDec 11, 2023
be expecting like 8 years from the date it was filed. F24 is the same as F2B. Unmarried son or daughter over 21 of a permanent resident.
Solomon OdionDec 11, 2023
@stephen thank you so much for keeping us updated here, my pd is 2019 mom filed for me, and she just became a citizen last week, does that help boost my case? I haven’t been approved yet, and how long do you think priority date would get to me?? I see you’re Nigerian yeah? I’m also Nigerian but living in London, pls let me know it will be really helpful
Solomon OdionDec 11, 2023
@stephen Omoregie my country of interview should be in Istanbul, that’s where I lived when it was filed, does it also matter ???
Solomon OdionDec 11, 2023
please what table do we need to look out for dates for filing or final action date? I’m confused as well @Stephen Omoregie
Stephan OmoregieDec 11, 2023
@Solomon Odion your mom becoming a citizen doesn't really help speed up the process because my own Dad became a citizen while I was in the process, but NVC themselves adviced me to maintain my status of eligibility under lpr. I think it helps the overall case and chances of approval after interview now that your mom is a citizen. The last part of just my opinion.
Solomon OdionDec 11, 2023
@stephan Omoregie thank you so so much, but how long do you think it will take for me to get approved or interviewed ?
Stephan OmoregieDec 11, 2023
@Solomon The country of interview will determine the speed at which your interview will be scheduled. Your country of changeability or origin and the country of interview greatly affects the speed of your process. one instance of this is that your final action date might become current but your country's limitation might be over the limit for that fiscal year and sometimes beyond 2 or more years like China, Mexico etc. and or if the embassy your interview will be scheduled is temporarily closed or not conducting interviews for Immigrants due to war, riot etc, your case will be affected.
Solomon OdionDec 11, 2023
@stephan Omoregie you are very correct, you seem to know a lot about this immigration thing, wow 👏🏽
Stephan OmoregieDec 11, 2023
@Solomon Odion keep your eyes on the Final Action Date. once it's passes your PD, your interview is within months or a few years depending on your visa category. Thanks.
Stephan OmoregieDec 11, 2023
@Solomon Odion when your interview will be scheduled varies due to factors like country of changeability and country of interview. But in my case, it took 5 years for my case to become current, then sent to NVC, and another 3 years for my interview to be scheduled.
Solomon OdionDec 11, 2023
wow 3 years just for interview omg? was it from Nigeria embassy ??
Stephan OmoregieDec 12, 2023
@Solomon Odion Covid 19 pandemic created a longer backlog, and Donald Trump ban made the process longer. So I guess the timeframe should be lesser for some of you.
Stephan OmoregieDec 12, 2023
@Nicola Christie F3 Visa tends to take longer than F2. As per the Visa bulletin, it can take up to 15 years, but if all the factors that affected mine are present. So you should be expecting at most 9 years of waiting for Visa approval.

@Solomon Odion
hi can i ask you a question please?
my pd jan 2022
and i have the welcome letter from NVC with invoice #
my visa f2b but i cant pay the fees for the visa i keep trying from jan 2022
Solomon OdionDec 12, 2023
@Om Om B how the hell do you already have a welcome letter from NVC and your pd is just 2022? 😳 are you sure you’re in the F2b category??? where is your center California or Vermont or where?? and I think the only person here that can answer that question is @Stephan Omoregie he knows more about this stuffs than I am 😫
Solomon OdionDec 12, 2023
@stephan Omoregie how did NvC advice you to maintain your lpr status because the lawyer I’m working with now just filled a form after my mom became citizen, says it will help speed up my case, don’t know how true that is but was it during your interview with nvc that they advised you to remain in the lpr or what???
Stephan OmoregieDec 13, 2023
@Om Om B I think you are mistaken with your one of the above details. it's either your PD is wrong which is most likely, or that your visa category is wrong. I don't want to speculate, but check your details.
Stephan OmoregieDec 13, 2023
@Solomon Odion I did everything myself without any lawyer. NVC sent me an email on the D-260 electronic system saying that they have will update my case to F1 automatically, because that's how the system works, that if I want to Opt-out of it I should let them know. They always stated in the email that it is better for me to remain in that category because it would speed up my process. I will paste the message here.
Solomon OdionDec 17, 2023
@Stephan Omoregie thanks so much for all the explanation I really appreciate you..right now it seems F2b final action date isn’t moving anywhere it has been on September 15 for almost 3 years and now it just moved to October 15, this is so slowwwwww 🥺🥺😔
