I had the same situation, because you married to an US C it’s technically forgiven! I had my interview yesterday and got approved on the spot. Good luck!

if you marry a citizen no it does not. I have been approved and I overstayed a few months

@hasan syed Hi, if you were not in the US illegally and just out of status then you should be fine. Relatives of US citizens are forgiven for overstays or being out of status. How far out where you and was it right after being married? I entered the US and got married 2 days after and then waited 4 months to apply for my greencard. This could have been seen as overstaying but it wasn’t because I was married.

@Kingsley B I come to us in December 2013 for my masters in mechanical engineering. I did graduate in December 2016. lost/denied OPT or EAD because of improper documentation and was out of status for a year before marrying my wife in 2018-August and have been married since then.

@hasan syed You have been in the US a long time. Your marriage will not be questioned because of the length of your marriage so that is very good. Working without authorization and overstays are supposed to be forgiven. I hope that everything goes well for you. If you answered them honestly then it will be forgiven. If you ever lie to them about it, then they can deny you for that. Please post an update of what happens.
