Opinions! How long do you have to stay with the sponsor after receiving a green card? (myths/laws)
I’ve been hearing a lot of people asking about this questions. And there’s no clear opinion on that. Some say 6 months, others say a year.
What are your takes?

6 months is the best but you can stop after three months if you don’t like the work you have the freedom to change a sponsor

is 6 months a rule ? if you do not stay 6 months what are the consequences

No where in the Green card statue for EB3 it states that you need to work for the sponsor for even 1 day. The contract you signed with BDV or any other agency is not even valid and they cannot prosecute you just because you did not work for the sponsor.
USCIS needs to be statisfied that when you applied for the EB3 unskilled your intention was to actually work for the employer in good faith. They do not ask for these stuff in naturalization process. If you have already worked for the employer you are well within your right to leave them but just to be safe work until you get your green card. Leave when you want after it.
You paid tens of thousands of dollars to your sponsor agent to work on a very low paying job. You are in a free country, leave when you feel like leaving. Do not get bounded by those irrelevant contracts
BDV agents in the app will tell you and scare you to work for the sponsor just because the more you work for the sponsor the more money BDV gets. These company operators will burn in hell

I agree with you @Mark White we should keep working with sponsor till we have a gc. This is because we have spent time and lo of money for that so we don't wanna get any risk till we get a gc.

@Mark White
what if you are already working with the sponser?
what do the sponser need to do when our PD becomes current ?
Mark White3d
@aj k well the best course of action for you is to wait for your green card. Once you get your green card leave the company. If you haven’t started working, the best course of action is to wait until you get your green card to work for the sponsor even if you want to.

what do you suggest?
Mark White3d
@tribal chief don’t worry! You should be good. You should be current soon so your time will come.

I heard you technically still can get a RFE after receiving your green card and they might ask why you never worked for your sponsor or why you left them early.
So would they be able to reopen your case if you never worked for your sponsor or leave them too early?

@Mark White I worked with my employer for 16 months, I have an interview coming and I don’t work there anymore, however I got the 485J and EVL sigend and have all the w2’s and tax returns that confirms I worked there, will that be an issue?
Mark White2d
@Oso Stovic there will be no RFE after getting your green card. These are all rumors made to scare people so that they work for their employer for a long time. USCIS is drowning in cases and will have not time to look at completed cases. Your case gets closed after you get your green card
Mark White2d
@Eddie Sal Don’t worry you have your supplement j and your paystubs even if they ask for it. I recently had my interview and I have not worked for my sponsor. The visa officer did not even ask me these questions.

Thank you @Mark White
Yea I’ve been hearing scary stories that people getting their green cards revoked. But maybe you’re right and those are rumors.
