I got approved 15 days ago but haven’t received the welcome letter yet. Did you receive by email or mail? @Sabrina Dias @Nancy B

case approved Nov 1st, sent to department of state on 5th November Welcome letter same day, logged in and paid all fees on same day took 3 days to processed and then submitted all documents on 9th then DQed on 17th. so for me it took 11 days from welcome letter

I really appreciate the response and info. I asked because my wife case was USCIS approved / closed Nov 20 and wanted to have a feel went to expect it. Ofcourse I need to factor that there is Thanksgiving holiday that week so it will take longer.

@jason Kurt I believe the K1 works differently as the process is different. For my wife K1 she got approved Aug 29 but didn't receive the NVC Welcome Letter till Oct 11 through email. I did email them though as per the USCIS approval letter I was told to contact NVC if I don't get anything by the 4th week. I did email them using the NVC inquiry form online on Oct 4th and got the case number the next day. Hope this info helps you. ofxourse in my case the K1 was no longer valid to use because my wife had a pending I-130 case ofcourse now approved

@unicorn life in my USCIS online account it says Case Approved / Case Closed how do I know it was sent to department of state. Does the status update again from Case Approved to Case Sent to DOS.

@R B on status it will say “case was sent to department of state” but you will receive welcome letter from NVC before this status changes because there is a lag in the system

@unicorn life thank you. I did not know that there is another status change. I assumed "Case Approved" was the last stage. I will keep my eye on it then.

First Happy Thanksgiving to everyone who celebrated. Today Nov 23 I had status change from Case Approved to Case was sent to DOS, so I should expect the NVC Welcome Letter soon correct?
