I’m not sure but I’m having an appointment with my social worker soon, I’m pregnant and I have around a $10,000 debt to see if she can help me out doing that letter .I’ll keep you posted. I think if you have a debt and you have proof that you financially can’t afford paying that, that helps.

I got mine approved based on financial loss and humanitarian. I gathered all financial info that might be helpful and included medical letters.

@rebecca - how long did the consulate in the home country take to approve the expedite?

@G T i send out the email to NVC on the 18th of dec. I received an email the next day from NVC that they will forward the request to the consulate. on the 23rd of December NVC send me an email that the consulate granted my request

@ G T Germany and was able to pick my own interview date through the visa appointment site so I did not have to expedite the actual appointment

@Rebecca - The NVC forwarded our expedite to the consulate in the home country on the 21st December! no response from the consulate yet and I emailed NVC asking if there’s any update but they say we need to simple wait till the consulate responds. its 3 weeks since this happened and I’m still waiting. anything you suggest me to do? Can the congressman or ombudsman in the US help with this ?

@GT sadly you have to wait. I don’t think congress can actually help with a consulate but I might be wrong. NVC did their job to send the info over now the consulate has to decide. which consulate maybe they are a busy one. I would maybe contact the embassy directly

@Rebecca - thanks Rebecca for the detailed response 🙏🏼😔! yes we sent the embassy an email a follow up week ago too but no response. Little worried about calling them and inquiring only because NVC mentions that we necessarily need not contact the embassy as the communication is between them and it the embassy will get annoyed and give us a negative response on the case😔! but you think it’s fine you call the embassy ? please guide me 🙏🏼
