NVC…
my wife lived in Europe for a few and went back to her home country, the NVC asked for a police certificate from that country but, we can’t get it because it have to be personal and the plane ticket to that country is like 3000 dollars round trip… have anyone have this issue?

Try to get it online if possible. There are some third parties who can get the police Certificate on behalf of you. That was the case for Canada. My wife is a Canadian. I am not sure if your wife’s previous country does that online process. Or else you can write a letter of explanation. My wife also lived in south east Asia for a while, I couldn’t get the PC for that country because I had to be physically there. I explained in the letter I couldn’t because due to covid we are not traveling and at that time my wife was pregnant. Give them a legit reason. You can say financially it is not feasible. You can also try calling the embassy of that country in your country to check if they can do something.

thanks ill try it because it have to be face to face for them to give that to you if you’re not a citizen.. so that really hard for us now

go to the embassy like my husband did he lived in japan for 20yrs then he went back in the philippines, he go to japanese embassy in the philippines and requested for a police clearance

@mamu bee, she did that and they said they only do that for citizen, she is not a citizen, she must got to that country to get it personally.

@Sakib Chu did that letter of explanation work for you and your wife? It was approved in place of the police certificate? I’m asking cause I’m in a similar situation. The embassy I need a police certificate from is very hard to get into and states on their government website that they’re not processing police certificates for non citizens.

@melody a. It says approved. They didn’t ask me to get it after the letter of explanation. What i did was I used the website of that country to apply for PC. I took screenshots and attached all the supporting documentation with the Letter of explanation showing I tried but unsuccessful because my wife had to be physically present in that country. I believe in your case LOE should work explain them your situation
