Nigerian Interview Backlog after DQ
Hello I'm far from it but I just learned they even after being DQ from nvc there will still be the challenge of getting an interview in Nigeria. I'm wondering if anyone has any recent states in how bad the backlog is? I've thought about transferring the case to another country with less backlog so if anyone has info on that too it would be most helpful. thank you

The new policy of the U.S. administration has instituted a policy which states that visa interviews must be conducted in country of the visa beneficiary. That being said you may not transfer your case file to another country. sad really is that USCIS noted a high level of marriage and visa frauds from Nigeria and Nigerians so cases from Nigeria goes through high scrutiny before approval. this will result in backlog and extensive waiting periods

Hi Daniel this is where it kinda gets confusing, when they make new rules like this it’s been said that the cases filed before the effect date are grandfathered in so those changes wouldn’t apply. what unnerves me is that it doesn’t deter fraud! how when Nigeria has been banned , and now even several years since the ban has been lifted there is still a year and a half backlog and yet ppl went through all of that and still fraud happened. a fraud doesn’t mind the wait and other countries have done it kinda sounds like it’s just plain racism. so I don’t know if I’m grandfathered in or not but after being with my husband for 3 years only to get married, file and learn of this backlog even after being approved it’s really paining in that my atty never told me there’s be a longer wait after approval and I’m just trying to see what my options are.
