NEED SUGGESTIONS
My stepdaughter, who is under 21 years old, has been approved for CPB one (parole for immigrants). At the same time, she has a case in the National Visa Center (NVC), for which I am the petitioner. NVC has already approved all submitted documents, and we are currently awaiting an interview date from the US embassy in Haiti. I would like to inquire about the process: should I request to transfer her case from the USA, or should I wait for an interview date in Haiti? I am also interested in hearing from anyone who may have experienced a similar situation. Thank you.

I would suggest to wait on the travel authorization from the parole because it’s to my understanding that the us embassy is set to open back in 2026. Not sure how accurate that is but either way you have 2 positive options.

Do not wait for NVC interview. The us Ambassy is closed until further notice. Use the travel document for her to come here and then you can figure it out from there. If you’re a citizen, then immediately apply for her US passport while she’s still under 21. If not, you can ask for her case to be transferred to the US once she’s here and they’ll just send her her greencard. That’s what my sister did for her 2 children who were stuck in Haiti. They were also waiting for interview. Now they’re waiting for their US passport, bypassing the whole greencard process since my sister is a US citizen.
