Need Advice 🙏
I have an appointment on Monday for my emergency advance parole to travel outside the country. Do you think it would be appropriate to ask the officer about the status of my green card as well? I had my interview on April 7th, 2025, but I haven’t received any update since then. The officer at the interview mentioned they would let me know, but I’m still waiting. Since I’ll be meeting with an officer during this appointment, I’m hoping they might be able to help me with this too.

@shenni law , I visited my emergency advance parole appointment, and they approved me on the spot, providing me with all the required documents. However, they charged me $630. I inquired about my pending green card marriage-based interview scheduled for April 7th, and she informed me that they have all the necessary information at the moment. Nevertheless, she assured me that I will receive an update soon, so I remain hopeful.

Thanks for the update Mr RT. please tell me about your travel experience with the Emergency travel document because I would need to apply for one because I have to attend my Dad’s funeral, I haven’t set my eyes on him for 10 years and now he is gone.

@Korede Onama , I’m so sorry to hear about your loss. You’ll need to contact USCIS and request an appointment for emergency advance parole. Explain your situation to them — they’ll ask for your father’s death certificate and the funeral date. Bring those documents to your appointment, and they will review your case and usually approve it right away. They’ll also ask for your travel dates (when you plan to leave and return) and then issue you the travel authorization document. If you need any help with the process, please let me know. Just a heads-up, the filing fee is $650.

@RT Thanks so much I have all the documents, just a little scared of re-entry but I am taking that risk for sure. I have to pay him my last respect.

@Korede Onama , They will provide you with three documents. Please ensure that you carry them with you at all times. When you return to clear customs, you will need to show these documents to the officer to allow you entry. Everything will be fine.
