how long are they? if your last name is less than or equal to 18 characters then you should be fine. first name if longer than 18 characters then it will show only first 18 characters and that’s fine. changing name means everything in record on your other documents and certificates before this name change will not change, you know it right?

yes . i just dont like my name as welll surname bcos every time i mention ppl does mistake in spelling and all. i m tired of this long and complicated name.

you may have to do legal change of name in court too for other record purposes. You can talk to an attorney about this

i spoke witb lawyer he suggested me earlier that when i file citizenship we will change name. no need to spend extra money. they do free when u take oat. and also its done by judge.

I'm going to change my name. My whole process is taking 1 yrs. I filed in Nov 2020 interview is next month. I don't think is gonna affect the case but maybe the oath is gonna take a little longer because "sometimes" oath for who changes names in not held at the field office. Usually, is at the court with judge. Not sure if anything changed after the pandemic.

US CIS; but how are you gona change your name on your passport from your home country? And how are you gona tell any new employer that your academic documents in your former name are valid? Change of name goes beyond changing one’s name with USCIS.

o david They provide u proof with judge stamp and signature. u can represent wherever u want to update new name. more imp is u dont need old passport if u getting us citizenship.

josh bigosh; you can change your name in your home country too. Countries usually have reciprocity laws (international agreements) that makes one country to recognize and accept legal documents from another country. You can apply for a new travel passport in your home country in your new name. You don’t want to continue to visit your home country with a visa unless that’s what you want.
