@Charlaprince princelachar I see you filled two i485, one for your marriage i130 and also another new i485 for your approved vawa. did you get your i485 approved already and why didn’t you stick with the old i485?

@eze Eze . I was advised by an attorney to submit a new I-485. sadly, that was a wrong advise. because the time on the count starts with the new one. however, my approved VAWA says that my priority date for the I-485 is from the date of my previous I-485. which is a good thing. I think there’s no reason usually to file a new one in most cases. I filed a new one based on the advise of an attorney, and partly because the I-485 had so many mistakes from my first attorney.

@Charlaprince princelachar my vawa approval is on May 2022, I looked at my approval letter and didn’t see anything indicating that priority date should be my old i485. where did you see this info?

@Shanice blue yea it was, had to apply for cancellation of removal which took me a while to get due to ICE delays in issuing me a joint motion. I am good now and ready for my adjustment of status

@Shanice blue I see they attached your old i485 to your new vawa i485, how did you make this request and how old was the old i485? my old i485 is probably 6yrs on the system. lawyer wants to submit a new i485 next week so might have to tell them to attach it too

@Charlaprince princelachar I finally found my priority date on my approved vawa document - August 16th 2018 That should mean I am already due for the green card. 🤞🏾
