***Interview Experience
The interview took around 10 minutes. The officer asked for my passport and driver’s license. He also inquired if I had any new documents to share, so I provided the updated employment letter. He went through some of the I-485 yes/no questions. At the end, he said everything was in order and that I should receive my card soon. My case status changed to "New Card Being Produced" a few minutes later.

@Mrs Mrs Thank you!

@Raul Mayor Thank you! Based on my recent observations, it seems that more NIW cases are being called for interviews (as noted in several other cases from Reddit and other communities). I feel like I might have been randomly selected for an interview, but I could be wrong, lol.

@Yas I Thank you! Denver FO. According to Emma, it appears my case was moved there after the status changed to 'Case Is Ready For Interview' on May 22, 2024.

@Naser Sh
follow up on interview questions.
1- Did they ask question NIW endeavor. do we need to keep the published work, I-140 petition etc?
2- can you provide a general list pf all the suggested documents to carry on the interview for primary and dependent applicant?
Naser ShJul 18, 2024
@CRP Feb 2024 Sure:
1. No, he didn't ask me (I think they usually don't ask this from the majority of applicants). However, I think it's good to stay active in some sort of research related to the I-140 petition (or work-related activities). My updated employment letter stated that I am active in my proposed endeavor.
2. As a single filer, I brought the original documents and copies of what I submitted with the I-485 package to the interview, as mentioned in the interview notice. However, he only asked for my passport and driver's license. I also brought tax documents (returns and W-2s) for the last two years, just in case, along with all receipts and approval notices for my I-765, I-131, and I-485 forms. You also need to bring the I-693 medical examination form (a copy is fine if you submitted the examination form in 2023), otherwise a sealed version.

@Naser Sh - Thank You so much again for the explanations.
Quickly DoneJul 19, 2024
congrats! Did you apply in US? I thought interview is waived when applying in US. what do they ask in the interview?
Naser ShJul 20, 2024
@Quickly Done Thank you! Yes, I applied from here. Some EB cases get interviews. He asked some yes/no questions from I-485 and a few general questions like my current status, job, etc.
Rizwan SherdilJul 21, 2024
my interview is also scheduled I am doing job but my current job is not related to my research this is different but I applied for my subject job and get shortlisted in few of them I submitted evidence at the time of RFE. I didn't submit my medical now interview scheduled next month and mainly i-693 is also requested and bring other issued documents and submitted documents. did they take any documents from you at the time of interview. and what is your interview center? @Naser Sh
Naser ShJul 22, 2024
@Rizwan Sherdil The officer only asked for my passport and driver's license. I had all the documents submitted with my I-485 case and some additional supportive documents, but he didn't request any of them (though I did provide the updated employment letter). My interview was conducted at the Denver field office. It would be beneficial to demonstrate some research-related engagement in case they inquire (since your sub-category is NIW). Good luck!

congratulations! can you please share what the “updated employment letter” was about? was there a change of job? or a forward looking new job offer?
Naser ShJul 27, 2024
@J Dalton Thank you!
Naser ShJul 27, 2024
@DesiGirl2010 Chackunny Thank you! This was basically the same letter as what I originally submitted on October 23, just with a more recent date/signature to show I'm still doing the same thing.
BL DJul 29, 2024
congratulations! My PD is Nov 10, 2022. Applied under EB2-1 ROW. Btw while you were working with an employer and had a job offer letter to show during interview. Why you isn’t apply trough non NIW and have your employer being sponsor?
Naser ShJul 30, 2024
@BL D Thank you! I was on a student visa (F1) when I filed the I-140 petition in December 2022. Regardless, NIW is easier (Just publications & citations) since you don’t need to go through the PERM process. I hope you get good news very soon!
BL DJul 31, 2024
@Naser Sh that’s very interesting!
