My Advance Parole travel experience
Hello Everyone. I just returned back from my trip to my home country. Stayed 5 and a half months. My combo card is valid for 2 years until 2024. All went smoothly as all I needed was my passport for the trip to my home country. The return trip was also smooth as I used Turkish airways to the US port of Entry (Chicago). (Air France did not seem to understand what the Advance parole document was all about). Long story short, Immigration officer asked me one question: Where did you travel? Then proceeded to fingerprint and then sent me for secondary inspection. I was seated in there for about 30 minutes and then my name was called out. My passport was handed back to me. No questions asked. I walked out into the cold Chicago skyline and proceeded to breath in the pleasant air. Please don't be scared to use your advance parole. It is issued for a reason. So make use of it. Good luck

I’ve always been hesitant about flying non-direct flights. I guess from your experience flying Turkish or Air France shouldn’t be an issue, right?

@divine intervention Yes! And everything went smoothly

@TRS Hopefully Turkish was very knowledgeable and permitted Advance parole. Air France wasn't. Actually Air France refused to allow boarding with the Advance parole document.

@Hopefully hopeful @Bhavinkumar Patel @Alexer G @wagner bradok @Prayers Is the key guys I have a quick question I don’t know what happened to this app but I can’t see my post regarding to the question I have. so I’ve just received a notification that I765 new card is being produced. At the same time I applied Advabce Parole but it’s hasn’t changed today. do you think I will receive both travel and work authorization for 5 years or how? This is my second card the one was for 2 years based on marriage and this one is based on VAWA. Thanks
