Moving after filing n-400
Can I move to a different state but still have my n-400 processed in my current state? I don’t want my case to be transferred when I move because it might prolong my case.

that makes a lot of sense. all you got to do is not to change your address with the USCIS and also be monitoring that address for letters and updates from them

since I’m moving out of state—there’s no way for me to get the mails. i know we are supposed to report to uscis also when we do

don’t report your change of address if you do they’ll transfer your file to your new state , when u filed n400 u can get all letters they sent you online

not updating your address is a very bad advice, unless you have someone stay at that address and checking the mail for you. but you said you don't. so, move and update your address with USCIS as soon as possible. also update the address with the post office. that way anything sent to your old address will be forwarded to the new one automatically. update the address with the post office first. then, USCIS. the reason you have to update your address with USCIS is so they send you to the right field office if necessary, or your files to the right center. don't play with that and ruin it all for yourself. USCIS will use anything they can to deny whatever application you have with them. so, don't give them any reasons to.

you're very welcome, charmy. 🙂 actually, I just remembered that USPS doesn't forward USCIS correspondances. so, changes of addresses MUST be with USCIS. but you are staying in your current address, you said. this was just an addendum. 🙂

yeah I’m definitely staying. I’ve been waiting for this final step for so long, don’t want to mess it up. thanks again lilo
