Marriage case approved after 29 months at Baltimore FO
Hi everybody, I just wanted to share my timeline and maybe encourage somebody who is still waiting for their decision. I came to the US on a J1 visa with Two years home residency requirement. While living in the US, I met my now husband. Later on, I applied for a waiver of two years home residency requirement and got married to my US spouse. My field office was Baltimore. Our AOS interview was very simple and lasted only 15 minutes. However, our case was held for review and it took them 18 months to give us a decision. I filled out the whole application package with a lawyer and I had a lawyer present during the interview as well. The waiting for a decision was very frustrating but it had one big advantage I got unconditional 10 years green card since our marriage got over 2 years during the waiting time. Here is my timeline: Case received (I-485, I-130, I-765, I-131) on November 16, 2020 I-765/I-131 was approved on August 13, 2021 I-485 interview (case held for review) on September 16, 2021 Case inquiry on January 19, 2022 Case inquiry on June 16, 2022 Case inquiry on March 2, 2023 I-765/I-131 (2nd application) received on March 6, 2023 I-765 was approved on March 9, 2023 I-485 was approved (card being produced) on March 29, 2023 I-130 was approved on April 3, 2023 Card in hands on April 7, 2023 Thank you and wishing everyone good luck with their process!

Nice Congratulations 🍾 This gives me hope and an action plan as: My PD is Oct 2020 Interviewed & received EAD in Sept 2021. Waiting ever since, 2 inquiries & 1 inquiry via house representative hasn’t helped. I will reapply for my EAD renewal asap now. Hopefully that may trigger an approval. 30 months have passed for me since I applied.

sun sun: I hope that you will get approved soon! I think that the last inquiry, which my lawyer sent was the one which triggered the approval. For the last inquiry, he actually told them that we had interview over a year ago and that we did not receive approval notice and it was probably lost in the mail. He also told them that my medical will expire next month.
