Marriage based interview waived
so I just spoke to an agent and she told me that the local office (Boston) has waived my interview on July 13 but I see no updates on my uscis account or haven’t received a mail and nothing in the document section. has this happened to anyone or does anyone know what the next step is?
history of my case
I was scheduled for an interview in March but my interview was canceled a day before because they hadn’t received all of my files. PD, July 17,2021
any suggestions will be appreciated!!!

@TimTim, I have little confidence in USCIS tier-1 agents; a uniform understanding of rescheduled v. descheduled v. waived, etc. Please ask for notification of their claim, and open a “Did not receive by mail” e-request case under [Resources] in your USCIS account.

of course, it’s possible the interview was waived, but I know an anecdotal case where my friend was told by the USCIS agent her interview was waived after it was cancelled, and a couple months later she was scheduled and when she inquired USCIS, she was told her interview wasn’t ever waived, but was rescheduled. Just request a notification to be safe.

myself I called last week and the agent told me my interview is waived, but didn’t get no update on my account. Are they even saying the truth 😄

I too had the same issue until I called and spoke with five different officers who said the same thing. No one will see an update regarding the waiver cause it’s internal. Only final decisions will be reflected on your app or account. Be happy, it’s not a scam or glitch. USCIS has millions of visas that should be expiring by September 30 and they got to use all of them as quickly as possible for the fiscal year. It’s good news.

I’m also waived. I spoke to 3 different agents who said the same. wondering how long for approval and GC.

hopefully we all get approved before september ends! woohoo!!!!! 🎉🎉🎉🎉

What I’m hearing is that by September 30 we should be able to get our green cards once interview has been waived.

why are we conflating EB employment based interview waivers which expire end of Sep for FY 2022, with marriage based green cards? Few marriage based are getting waived from what I hear, too, but please be clear here.

Both EB based applications and family based application whose interviews are currently been waived should be able to get green cards by latest September. Hope that make helps!!
