Marriage Base GC
I moved to the US from Canada on a L1B visa (expires on June 6th 2024) my wife is a US citizen and has sponsored me on a green card. We applied for the GC on Dec 12th 2022. I’m about to file for my I765 EAD, and it’s looking like applications are taking 9-12 months to approve. Can anyone help confirm what would happen if the work permit didn’t arrive in 9 months and my L1B expired. I believe I have 60 days from the time my L1 expires. this would give me 11 ish month. But could I keep working and if I did would I look bad if my GC isn’t approved in time.
I also did my biometrics Jan 14, 2023 but it’s not showing up in my timeline.

@Kyle Beaton I am about to submit my I-765 with C09 category and I would like to know as well. My PD for I-486 is December 2022. My I-485 is at Boston FO (I don’t live in Massachusetts). I sent my medical RFE over a months ago and there is no acknowledgment of them receiving my medical and this is making me extremely anxious.

most of recently filled EAD is being approved in 2 months or less, mine was approved in a month

My PD for I-765, I-485, I-130 and I-131 was June 16th, my OPT expired July 4th, still waiting.

my EAD (as a Canadian from a TN visa) was approved the day of biometrics automatically because Canada and US have quick background check process. I don’t think you’re out of status if you have a pending 485 do you should be ok.
