@eb3 2022 my i-485 is also pending, i have been using health insurance from marketplace for several years, it should not affect the green card . it may affect your taxes, if your total family income for 2025 exceeds the amount you indicated in the application, you will have to pay extra! mine is like that every year😁

some people are saying don’t buy health insurance from marketplace its a scam at the end of year you will not get any tax back and you need to pay them more is it right? If I want to use tax credit that is 645$ how much is safe to use?

I do not and would not use anything that could be grounds for impediment under the public charge law, especially now under Trump’s administration. That’s just my stance and personal choice. Nothing might happen, but we can never be too sure.

it’s based on the income you made or are making. it’s under the Obama care plan. the credit you receiving is what the government is giving you it’s not something you are asking for so it’s very safe. I been using it for the last 7 years. it’s just a part of the Obama care plan to make sure everybody gets health insurance. however if you earn more than the certain amount on 2025 when you file taxes for next year the amount is decrease and your out of pocket $$ for the premium will increase

that $645 remains the same but the remaining $12 varies on what type of plan you select from market place.

i485 pending applicant can buy the health insurance from market place. You don’t need to pay more if you are earning with in the amount that you entered while purchasing it. I have been using since last year and continuing this year as well. Don’t know why @waiting Eb3 unskilled said it would be grounds for public charge while they clearly mentioned who can purchase it.
