LC is just filed. Retrogression will devastate us..
I am collaborating with an agency for eb3 unskilled. they could just filed the 9089 for LC. the visa bulletin still shows Feb 2020 for eb3 unskilled category. under these circumstances it seems to take 4 or 5 years to apply for I-485. Is there anyone like me? What do you suggest to me? should I quit the process?

It might move a bit forward in october. Even for date of filing. If you can at least Maintain your status for next 2-3 years consider this option or else not.

Unfortunately you are right. If you can go to another EB category that would be great. You can also look at the possibility of H1B visa but chances are so slim with the number of applicants for 2024 which I believe is at 700k+. If you cant maintain that status within the time frame it will be so hard for you to adjust status in the future.

thank you so much for your comments. Yes I am trying to maintain my legal status for future aos applications. I didn't file I-140 yet so I don't have a priority number. just LC was filed. eb3 unskilled category doesn't work anymore. I don't recommend it to anyone. What will happen if another employer would file LC for me in another EB category? does my current eb3 LC file affect my other case?

Your PD is the time your employer applied for your LC not when the i-140 was filed. It does not affect your case if another employer file another LC in the future.

Okan Merhaba:) we are in the same boat. I filed LC/Perm on 2/18 which is my PD. my lawyer is optimistic about the backlog in October. otherwise I will have to stop working on Dec since i exhausted my OPT.

no affect to exitsing LC if you file in different categories too.

@Okan Gencoglu No one has actually addressed your last question if another employer decides to file for you They need to file a new LC but YOU CAN RETAIN FILING DATE OF YOUR EB3 UNSKILLED LC for your new employer. So even if a new enployer files LC for you in 2024... you can retain 2022 PD from your EB3 Unskilled and your I485 will be processed faster than others... 6months tops! Ask your lawyer about this

@X Y thanks for that key info. but I couldn't get in well. because LC form 9089 is a unique paper which is prepared for a particular person and particular employer. I don't think that this paper will be used in future sponsorship case.
