Hi Noora, on the same boat. Been checking everyday for our K1 application (my fiancee is Turkish) but haven’t seen any open slots. I’ve been checking 3 times a day since March 4, 2023.

I don’t know if this is true but I called the embassy 2 weeks ago to inquire and they guy there (i’m not sure if he works for the embassy or for the company running the interview scheduling self-service portal but he said something about “the system being able to recognize how long your case has been and new slots being opened up based on how old your case is”. That’s what he said, but I can’t verify the veracity of his statement. As I said, i’ve been waiting to with no real concrete answers.

Hi yea that’s probably the ais system operater so I have been checking since January 2023 till now and still no update on the website I sent email to embassy every week no response and it’s just stuck I don’t know what we can do !

Let’s just wait and see hopefully a miracle will happen and they will open the k1 slots !

Noora, I checked a different forum and had a chance to talk to someone who got an interview scheduled on April 7, 2023 around 7am EST for interview on June 26, 2023 at Ankara for K1 visa. They said that it’s more likely to be opened in the beginning and middle of the month. Also, they said it’s super unpredictable so they came up with a plan to get a slot. They said best bet is to check every hour of the day, every day. They ended up setting alarms for every hour of each day, with the guy being on-call to check certain hours of the day, and the woman being on-call to check the other hours (for example, man is in US and he watches 10am to 12am EST, woman is in Turkey, she watches 1am to 9am EST because she’s 7 hours ahead). So that’s what my fiancee and I implemented today (I set permanent alarms for each hour from 8am to 12am, and my fiancee is responsible for the remaining hours) It’s tedious, but not a terrible idea IMO. I tried it today, and I saved my login info on my iphone and have the website bookmarked, so when alarm goes off, all I have to do is quickly login and check. I have to do it 12 times a day, yes, but each attempt takes me less than a minute so I think this is worthwhile if I can get an interview scheduled. Let me know what you think and good luck to you!

I just talked with the operator of the ais website and she said to me that you can check every day but be careful not to check way too much because maybe you will be logged out of the account so make sure you keep some time distance between each check .

That’s why I try to make sure i’m logged out when I try. I refresh the page after logging out if I’m still logged in.

Noora that’s what we’ve been thinking too - the election might be why there aren’t slots right now… let’s see who wins the second round election Also wanted to confirm with you - you’re using the website with the green background too, yes? I know there is a NonImmigrant Visa website that has a blue background (the green one is Immigrant Visa website). I want to make sure we’ve been looking at the same website. Granted, the website is same as the link from that PDF document on visa instructions they send you when you reach out to them after NVC sends the case to the embassy.

@amir you will receive an email from Ankara embassy if you reach out to them after your petition is sent to the embassy. Before you can even make an account there, you need to fill out a DS-160 and get your ID number to sign up. If you aren’t at the stage to schedule interviews, you might want to wait until then because it said on the PDF instructions document that any interviews scheduled before your case is ready at the Embassy will be cancelled and you will have to reschedule. Not that finding a slot is easy… we’ve been checking for months every single day and have yet to see an open slot.

@amir also if you’re CR1, you wouldn’t have to worry about the website… CR1 visa interviews are scheduled directly by the embassy - that means the wait is long but you are guaranteed an interview, sooner or later. With K1, you have to schedule yourself, and there is no guarantee. I mean look at Noora… she’s been checking the site for 5 months and still can’t find a slot… it’s really not any better..

there are soooo many companies who would book appointments for b1 b2 visa applicants and they make very good money we tried to contact them but they don’t do k1 visa or any immigration visa so if you are able to create this bot and if it actually works it could have huge impact in the future

do you guys have lawyers and tried to talk to them about this delay of the embassy just making me so stressed and anxiety level going high we cannot focus or do anything. our life’s are on hold it’s been almost 2 years with this process. it’s not necessary for that all. 2 years we all would started families. I go back and forth to fiancé, leaving work and everything. and have to be his sponsor

hi la la hiring a lawyer won’t do anything because the counselor will decide when to open an appointment slot for interview. Honestly, it has been exactly the same for us. I had to leave two jobs in the past year because of this visa and our life has been on hold since June 2021 until now my fiancé had to travel back-and-forth nine times in just two years so financially mentally physically it has been a torture and I guess we are not alone. Everyone has been through the same process unfortunately.

all we can do now is wait and be patient because in the end it’s all going to be worth it. We are lucky and blessed that we found the person we want to spend the rest of our life with. also let’s hope the election in turkey ends fast maybe after that we would have some good news !

yes it’s very hard to keep checking it Philip and I have been checking it every hour and I have been checking since January 24 till now no any appointments available well the appointments seems to be fully booked for this year so we are hoping someone cancels so we can get slots or idk maybe the cousler will open more appointments honestly we have no idea but we have no choice but to check all time

hmmm yeah it is weird !!! are you sure they were able to get the appointments ? because I emailed embassy million times and called the ais website so many times they said my account seems to be fine and that the counselor section would open appointments or some would cancel then only we are able to pay and book but other then that we must wait aldo I saw article in turkey saying it takes 15 months to get appointments in USA embassy Ankara and that erdogan party claimed that the USA doing this to embarrass him but USA responded because of Covid bockagle is high and that they are trying their best to make it faster work but obviously that’s not working btw USA is supporting opposition party for those of you who don’t know …

yea, it was k1. wow 15 months that’s another Uscis 16 months process. so when you emailed no answer. I don’t think I can handle more than the past 2 yeaes

@la la we will see I set a time fram till end of this year if nothing happens we are gonna move to plan B and get married in turkey and live here and wait together for the marriage visa that’s the worse plan ofc because my fiancé family and work and life is all in USA but we have to make plans we can not be waiting blindly but honestly I think there would be news soon or something at lest we know what steps to take because now my life has been on hold for 2 plus almost 3 years and idk when we will move to next step 😅😂

here in America they do not do interviews for the green cards they just send letters why are we struggling

My fiancé is American and I am originally Iraqi citizen, but I have been living in Dubai and just recently in turkey for the last four years. I don’t know much about hiring a lawyer to sue the embassy. I tried to send many email to the National Visa Center regarding this issue, telling them that our case is stuck here in Ankara and Ankara Embassy is not giving us any timeframe for how long we can wait to book an interview appointments I have sent multiple complaint email to the foreign affairs, the White House the vice president and president Biden, and my fiancé had already sent. A complaint to the congressman in North Carolina, and LA said that lay will forward our complain case to the right department and he’s been trying to call him every single day, but they say the same thing that they haven’t heard from the department yet, so basically, we are completely stuck like there is no any other way that I can ever think of unfortunately!!! however, I think we all should have Plan B if things don’t work out because life doesn’t always go the way you plan it too and I’m pretty sure there’s reasons why things don’t happen and somethings are meant to be happening in a certain timeframe so let’s just be patient for now and think about how we can find another solution to this problem!

oh, and by the way, the national visa center responded to my complaint by saying that it’s the case is not in their hands no more and that there is nothing that they can do from their side and that I should contact the embassy regarding this complaint, I mean, where is the common sense I am complaining about the embassy how can I take my complain and complain about the embassy that I’m complaining about? do you know guys that when the National Visa Center approved my case and send it to the US Embassy in Ankara Lee sent me an instruction form after one month of receiving my case which was on January and then they told me that I need to get criminal record from the past since 16 years old country that I have been in so I had to fly to Dubai to get my criminal record. I had to fly to Malaysia to get my criminal record I had to fly multiple times to İstanbul so I can sign authority form so that my brother and Iraq can get for me criminal record form and I had to get criminal record from from Turkey and I have multiple other documents hard it has been financially physically mentally for every single person who is going through all this process where there’s K-1 visa, K2 or any other immigration process why can’t they understand the hardship they are putting us in!!

I cannot live in iraq it’s hard for me to. I been in America for 27 years. if you search can you sue embassy to urgent the appointments, you will find a lot. only thing we all the ones having delays can reach out to one good lawyer and him/her do it and we all pay part of it. that way will be cheaper and helpful for all. it’s just an idea. I been waiting for almost 2 years, all of our life is on hold. I want to get married and start family, have kids. I want to have kids here in the state I cannot do it without my family. NVC won’t do anything it’s not in their hands

@la la wow we have lots in comman !!! well let’s try to wait a little bit more if nothing happens then we can hire a lawyer and see but just so you know I have an Iraqi friend she is married to an American and she has a lawyer and she applied for married visa the NVC sent her case to uae Abu Dhabi and she has been waiting more then 6 months now for an appointment and still no any slots available for her she tried to use her lawyer but the lawyer said there is nothing they can do when it comes to couslor …. so idk 🤷‍♀️ if our case can be done something about it’s same ?

there is no way to move it faster or do anything basically so we will just wait and check the ais website regularly meaning everyday !if no any news then we move to plan B we have no other choice

some guy wrote a comment on my YouTube comment he said that all Iranians are applying for all immigrants visa and non immigration visa and they get to choose if they want to have interview in Ankara or in Armenia or in Abu Dhabi that’s why it’s so packed and they are not even resident here so maybe for Iraq is same ? didn’t Baghdad opened interviews for k1 visa ???

send and email to USA embassy in bagdad or Erbil ask them if u can transfer ur case to there because there are no appointments currently in turkey for k1 say that to them

@la la keep checking! I got scheduled too today. And by keep checking, seriously set alarms for every hour during 7am to 6pm Turkish time, and check EVERY hour. It’s random, and appointment slots don’t stay open. Slots closed up within an hour of Noora and I scheduling our interviews.

@Lu Tas don’t listen to the naysayers. Getting scheduled for 2025 is both insane and ridiculous. I assure you that person is either highly mistaken or is deliberately exaggerating/lying. Noora and I got our interviews scheduled today 6/7, around 3:30-4:00am EST. Noora received instructions to complete DS-160 and schedule interviews in Janaury of 2023. I received it on March 7, 2023. Today is June 7, and we are both scheduled for September 21 interview date. 3 months feels long to wait to interview after getting scheduled, but it’s no 2 years. Check everyday and as regularly as you can, especially as couple months pass and you draw closer to the 3 month mark. Good luck!

Did you guys pay the visa fee before looking for a apartment or was it all done when the appointment was available?

I just recently filed for my fiancé who is from Iraq in May 2023 I know I have a lot of ways to go but I’m hearing some positive things about newer cases are getting processed a little faster? I know it’s not fair for the ones that have been waiting but I am seeing newer cases getting processed, litteraly from this year . Any idea why?

@Zee Z hi congratulations too on filling for the k1 visa since uscis recently announced that they have increased staff and trying to get case moving faster you definitely have a better chance in getting your case checked by USCIS faster then I did because I applied 2021 June which was just recently everything opened after Covid ! stay positive and patient and hopefully everything will go easy and smooth for you ☺️

Hello people. I've gotten to the scheduling the interview part for k1 visa about 2 months now. So far no appointments available is what I see everyday.
