yes, @ Stephen, it take about 6-8 months to get it.

no, we were not told if the case was approved or not at the interview. Only that we would hear from them within two weeks. After about a week we received notice that it was approved and two days later the green card arrived.

I did get my EAD card prior to the interview but only about 2 to 3 months before.
