just returned to US on advance parole
hello,
here is my experience travelling with AP. My wife traveled on June 10th and myself on June 30. We both returned on July 18th.
we had a little issue at the airport of departure: flying with Delta from Paris to JFK. The airport system kept denying passport when AP date were inserted. The Delta personnel told they have seen this document before. They called the main office and asked to override the issue so that the boarding passes would be issues. They had to send the copies of our passports and APs to CBP for approvale. CBP officer said the docs were OK. Finally our boarding passes were issued. All this was due to some error in their system.
Upon arrival to JFK, we were sent to the secondary inspection. We waited for about 20min and then our passports along with AP were returned to us without asking any question.
I never overstayed visa. Before travelling, I talked to my lawyer and he said we were good ti travel.
I am glad we came out of country for some time.
I hope this can be helpful to some of you. If someone can also answer this question, I would be grateful: how often is it safe to travel with AP? I plan on going to Canada for three days in August, is it safe?
