You also need his 2020 taxes. Did you receive the police clearance for your fiancé?
menuka parsaiMar 7, 2022
Nop I haven’t
menuka parsaiMar 7, 2022
I have everything from my side he’s waiting for police report
menuka parsaiMar 7, 2022
weird thing is I have or he haven’t received any email or welcome letter from embassy
J
Jessica VMar 7, 2022
If he doesn’t have the police report, his case is not going to be approved in the spot and his case is going to be refused and be in administrative processing until they receive it and process everything.
J
Jessica VMar 7, 2022
Hopefully they don’t cancel his interview because you usually receive something from the embassy.
menuka parsaiMar 7, 2022
they haven’t emailed me yet… but my case is ready for interviews and it tells me to schedule interview.. I’m not understanding this seriously
J
Jessica VMar 7, 2022
Go to your interview but just keep in mind what I said above that your case will be in administrative processing and that your fiancé will not receive a decision in the moment because of the police clearance.
J
Jessica VMar 7, 2022
Did your fiancé already do his medical exam? He needs to do that before his interview.
menuka parsaiMar 7, 2022
yeah I know that we have been waiting it’s been 3 month and nothing is happening I hated it… Qatar embassy is so lazy …
J
Jessica VMar 7, 2022
Have you tried calling them or having your fiancé go to the police clearance department?
J
Jessica VMar 7, 2022
If you are not ready or do not have the police clearance/medical exam yet, I would reschedule the interview.
menuka parsaiMar 7, 2022
yeah he went to Qatar embassy in Nepal and they said they don’t know when ?? medical is not the problem it will be done in one day. but the problem is police report
J
Jessica VMar 7, 2022
Yes, the police report is the issue. If your fiancé goes to the interview without it, his case can be in administrative processing for up to 2 months or more (depending on when the police clearance is sent to the embassy). So you might want to re-schedule the interview appointment.
menuka parsaiMar 7, 2022
I don’t know what to do now … I’m just gonna wait 2 more days
J
Jessica VMar 7, 2022
I would call the police clearance department and ask what’s taking so long. I would re-schedule the interview. I am telling you all this because of my own personal experience with my fiancé. He had had interview last month. In his country there’s two different types of police clearances. He took the wrong one and wasn’t given a decision at his interview.
J
Jessica VMar 7, 2022
On the same day of his interview, our case changed to “refused” on the CEAC website and it has been the same way for almost a month already. He sent the police clearance to the embassy the next day. We are currently still waiting for a decision from the embassy. I wouldn’t want the same thing to happen to your fiancé.
menuka parsaiMar 7, 2022
my fiance went to Qatar embassy in Nepal and they said they don't know why it's talking this long... it won't take this long before. we have no idea what's going on.. that's what they said .and I'm gonna wait for 2 more days then I wi reschedule it for after ..
menuka parsaiMar 7, 2022
thank you so much for helping appreciate it
J
Jessica VMar 7, 2022
No problem and yes.. if you don’t hear anything about the police report, your best option is to re-schedule. Let me/us know how everything goes for you and your fiancé!

I made $19299 in 2020 is it enough income to sponsor my fiancé Bcz of covid my job was closed for 3months. what’s the income limit for a year to sponsor finance?
J
Jessica VMar 7, 2022
J
Jessica VMar 7, 2022
There’d the income requirement @A N, more than likely you won’t qualify. You may need to have a co-sponsor.
A
A AMar 7, 2022
@Jessica can I attach unemployment letter that I claimed unemployment for that 3months I was laid off. i looked up on google it’s says annual income required for K1 is $17,240 and I made annually $19,299 in 2020.
J
Jessica VMar 8, 2022
Unemployment does not usually count as wages/income. It might be $17,240, but you have to add $5,000 for another dependent (your fiancé). So, you might not qualify. If I were you, I would have a co-sponsor just in case.

A AMar 8, 2022
ok thank you

Question, one of my friend she’s Mexican she’s not US citizen all she have is Work permit green card holder can she be my co-sponsor.
J
Jessica VMar 8, 2022
If the person is in the US and has a green card and a social security number, then yes, they can be your co-sponsor.
J
Jessica VMar 8, 2022
@A N, how many years has your friend had their green card for? It is the 10 year card or the 2 year (provisional/conditional)?
A
A AMar 8, 2022
she’s made $21,027 in 2020 and she’s has daca. she thinks it’s provisional Bcz she renews it every 2 years.
J
Jessica VMar 8, 2022
$21,000 is too low still. She’s short from the limit. Also, if she’s DACA that means that she’s undocumented. It can only be those who are US citizens or have a green card and a valid social.
J
Jessica VMar 8, 2022
So she probably cannot be your co-sponsor.
A
A AMar 8, 2022
ok thank you for all the information Jessica
A
A AMar 8, 2022
My US citizen friend, she’s already a co-sponsor to one of my other friend who sponsor her husband from neigeria. can that US citizen be my co-sponsor as well?
J
Jessica VMar 8, 2022
What’s the annual income for your friend?
A
A AMar 8, 2022
under 35K
J
Jessica VMar 9, 2022
Do you know the exact amount? Besides the person from Nigeria that they are a co-sponsor for, do they have any other dependents (for example, children, spouse, etc)?
A
A AMar 9, 2022
yes she got 5 kids
J
Jessica VMar 9, 2022
Oh, she might not be able too be your co-sponsor then. If she makes under 35k, it might not be possible because with you, it’d be a family of 8 (them, the 5 children, the person from Nigeria, and you) the person would have to earn more than 45k.
A
A AMar 9, 2022
oh ok I’ll have to find somebody else lol
J
Jessica VMar 9, 2022
Yes, I would find someone else. You can’t have your parents or any siblings be your co-sponsors? Do you already have an interview date? @A N
A
A AMar 9, 2022
no I am still waiting on NOA2, but preparing for everything lol
J
Jessica VMar 9, 2022
Good! Keep in mind that the tax period this year ends on April 18. Last year there was an extension until May 17. So if it is before April 18 or the extension deadline, you will use the 2020 taxes of yourself or your co-sponsor. If it is after this date, then you will use the 2021 taxes.
A
A AMar 9, 2022
so for K1 we just need to use 1 year tax return information or is it 3 years I am confused. i filed in July so I am sure I’ll have to wait more for my NOA2. i made $38k in 2021 will it be enough?
J
Jessica VMar 9, 2022
Yes, for the K-1 you only need 1 tax year. You will more than likely use the taxes for the 2021 year. You are by yourself right or do you have another dependent?
A
A AMar 9, 2022
Just by myself
A
A AMar 9, 2022
so I don’t have to worry about any co-sponsor if my interview is after May 17th right?
A
A AMar 9, 2022
we have long way to get NOA2. they are still working on March and I am july filer
J
Jessica VMar 9, 2022
If it is after April 18 (or May extension deadline), you will use the 2021 taxes. 38k is perfect, you can sponsor your fiancé. Don’t forget that before the deadline, you will for sure need a co-sponsor.
A
A AMar 9, 2022
ok Jessica thanks for the information.
J
Jessica VMar 9, 2022
No problem. We have a WhatsApp group for the K-1, just in case if you or anyone wants to join it. https://chat.whatsapp.com/DPJ8VAG9jdCJxcjhbQ0u0X
J
Jessica VMar 9, 2022
Also, I would ask again here in the app whenever the time for your interview is, just to make sure if you will be using the 2020 or 2021 taxes. But, keep in mind that the deadline this year for taxes is April 18 and that there might or might not be an extension until May.
