Jobs that accept EAD
Why is it so hard to get jobs with just EAD? I have my degree and other certifications, and still can’t land a job. I am wondering if it because I don’t have the green card as yet.

I know you have to be a Citizen to get Government jobs. But financial institutions are not the Government so I didn’t even think they would want green card.

@Shan Shan i don't know if they will accept your diploma from another country, so that might be the problem. And also, banking and finance, they want to make sure that you have clean background and that they can trust you

Federal law prohibits that. No job will ask you about your immigration status till you get to I-9 verification. Most hiring managers don't know much about immigration status, it strictly a HR thing. @Shan Shan maybe you need to rework your resume. Make sure you are grounded in whatever role you're applying for. Hiring managers don't have time to look at your resume when you apply, the use AI to sieve out unqualified candidates. I got a very good paying engineering job few weeks after I got my EAD. All the jobs applied called me for series of interviews.

@Shan Shan I’m in the financial field too, I started as a banker just to get my foot in the door and I’ve worked my way up since then and now almost making 6figures with the same financial institution ,since the beginning till now I’ll still using EAD. My suggestion to you is update your resume and apply to lotssss of bank jobs that fit your resume , all you need is work authorization and mind you they don’t ask if you’re a citizen, they only as if you’re authorized to work in this country.

I'm with @lady Rose on this one. I'm also in accounting and worked my way up too with just EAD. The companies largely don't care about that because they don't know. Are you walking around advertising it that you're not a citizen? You might be unwittingly inviting discrimination your way but I have not even provided proof of my education to get a job. If you pass the interview, that's the only time they should know your status when they are onboarding you.

Hi everyone. Thank you for your feedback. I received an email to interview using hirevue for a banking role. I’m not familiar with hirevue so I’ll do some reading.
