J1 -Marriage
Hi.
I was on J1 visa and I got married two years ago.. We still together However my husband do not want us to proceed with a Greencard application. He don’t give me enough information and not helpful at all. He no longer wanna work and bills are on my shoulder and he became so aggressive all of the sudden. I’m stressed he seem to be not interested anymore. I’m very stressed, I have children and time is not in my time. I do not know what to do in this situation. Please Help 🙏🏽

Are you subject to a 212e rule? If you are, start first with waiving the 2 years requirements. Applying for I485 is pretty straight forward.

Great! there is nothing to worry about. Applying for AOS is pretty straight forward but your husband must consent to it. keep talking to him.

@Nonto Dube.. listen u need to file a VAWA case with that u don't need anything from your husband. you don't need him to sign nothing!! once he starts showing u he is not interested in helping you to finish your immigration papers it is not gonna get better.. I hope u have a little money save up get a lawyer and schedule a interview.. with a VAWA case your husband will not know.. about it .. save all the evidence of abuse all text messages etc.. call the Chidolue law firm or any other lawyer that can help.. 407 995 6567 , just my advice. wish you all the best.. be encouraged be strong 💪🙏❣️

The truth about vawa is if you can prove it and you have the patience. people advice you to file vawa is not easy. i am in that same boat. mine was he went to jail. i have series of police report but still waiting since January last year. no work authorization. i feel your pains in the bills bcs i went through this. if you have to file vawa you can't live with him. vawa is very deep and needs alot of patience. i wish you the best but save your money if you can file it yourself better with enough proofs

@megito . how are u.. your right it truly isn't easy.. we here for each other trying to support each other the best way we can.😔😣 yes long process.. I am waiting as well.. so sorry to hear u did not even get a work permit. did u use a lawyer or u did it yourself, did u file 09 or 31 .. . I too sent two police reports etc. but I filed October 2021.. I truly hope u hear something soon .

Nonto, there are non profit agencies that can help you in cases like these or having access to free immigration attorneys.

@Nikki, i am good and you? have been in and out the hospital. this vawa is taken too long. i can't get govt assistant in Georgia with the prima facie. i got an attorney which mess up things for me. i later had to do it myself. i am tired. she file c31 it was rejected so i had to return it with a c9 since January it show fee was waive but 485 i had my bio in April. and it shows bio have been taken. i am confused. my 360 is jan 2021. is complicated.
