@.... .... embassy schedule case according to DQ,first in first out. status tool is accurate but hasn't updated since May. since f2a has moved 9 month in July visa bulletin, that has made a lot of f2a current, alot of case are DQ since September 2024-July 2025. embassy will schedule date for older DQ case in order,first in first out.

@.... .... @Bhavesh Roopram scheduling tool is quite accurate. My spouse is in Guyana as well and we got the interview letter 11 days after DQ.

@Bhavesh Roopram it takes a while but once you get that approval, things speed up a bit. after we got the interview date, the actual interview was scheduled about 2 months after. Approval for us took about 14.5 months. It was a long and draining process but we're nearing the end. 🙏 Hopefull all goes well with you. Some things to keep in mind is that they require updated birth certificates and police clearance when you get to the NVC stage. I'd say when you're nearing approval, apply for the police certificate so that you can submit documents to the NVC ASAP. Also, Guyana now requires a pre-screening appointment. The embassy will contact you directly via email or phone 2-3 weeks before the date NVC gives to go in so that you can hand in the necessary docs.

@.... .... yes the embassy will email or call you directly letting you know the date and time for the pre-screening appointment. We got ours via email. The pre-screening is usually done 2-3 weeks before the final interview date. @Bhavesh Roopram you're welcome. I'm happy to share whatever information I know because I was once in the position where I was scouring the internet for information that gave me a clue about the process. Feel free to ask anything.

@R H yes we've done the pre-screening. Just waiting for the final appointment day. We're basically at the end of what seemed like forever!

@Vanessa P what is it like? I already did my medical. waiting on date for prescreening.

@R H it's not much. You just go in they take basic info about yourself then hand in the necessary paperwork. The whole appointment doesn't even take about 30 min. At least that was what we've experienced. They dont really ask much questions either. When's you final appointment?

@R H our pre-screening was done 2 weeks before the final interview date. They'll reach out to you soon Maybe mid to end of August. I'm gald to be sharing. Feel free to ask anything. @Vanessa P hi how was interview? How long to get back passport after approved?

@R H the interview went well. They ask A LOT of questions to validate the marriage but we got approved on the spot. We haven't received the passport back as yet but will update you on the timing once we get it back.

@Vanessa P congratulations. oh I thought they does notify you on the day of interview when to uplift passport back. when you do prescreening, do they keep passport until interview date?

@R H they don't tell you when you can uplift it at the embassy.. After the interview if you're approved, they'll email you with a tracking number to let you that it's ready for pick up. You have to use that tracking number when you go to pick it up. From what I've heard, it takes about a week but we'll see. Also, at the pre-screening, they don't keep your passport. They give it back and you have to take it to the interview with you. That's when they keep it so that they can print the visa and attach it to you passport.

@R H it has changed a lot but they seem to be working pretty fast. If everything is properly done, it goes quickly.

@R H good luck! I'll update you once we get the passport back on how long it takes to get the pasport and visa after the interview.. We had the interview yesterday and ceac visa status said administrative processing right after. This is necessary to print the visa so don't worry. A lot of people get confused because they think soemthing is wrong. It's just routine stuff. Today, it changed to issued because the visa was printed and placed in the passport. We're just waiting for the email to say it's ready for pick up then we'll go uplift it. I'm assuming that we should be able to pick it up by end of the week. Like I said, if everything is properly submitted, things go fast.
