it currently takes 16.5 months when the spouse is abroad. There are a few cases that are approved earlier but that is really rare

Hello Blair. I can understand your frustration as it’s been a year for me and it’s very difficult to be separated. I try to see my husband every 4 to 5 months but it’s hard because there’s so many times where I went through a lot of downs and just had to deal with it by myself. I have three kids from another marriage and it’s crazy to explain to people that I’m married because sometimes I feel like a single parent as it’s all on me and I finally found a person who wants to walk all ways of life with me, but do the paperwork I have to wait. I used to see those post two of people getting approved in a short period of time. What I noticed is that a lot of times those are people who are already in the US waiting for the combination of the eye 130 and the other form that they applied for which does happen sooner. I’ve been told between a year and 15 months for US citizens filing for their spouses that are abroad. my PD is March 1, 2024. Now I’m hearing it 16 months. At this point we waited the longest part of it, but I do also feel that we’re at the bottom of the whale of our reserves emotionally. If we’re looking at the longest time. Then it looks like July might be our month to get approved. Then I’m told about three months to get an appointment (my husband lives in (India). my kids keep on asking when my husband will come and I just tell them by Christmas. Of course I am hoping that it’s a lot sooner than that but I don’t wanna get their hopes up even though I know 2025 is our year. Keep your head up and know that many marriages don’t go through what we went through in the first year. We have all had to create a long, lasting foundation emotionally not based off of physical because we were separated. I keep telling myself that that will make our marriage even stronger and go throughout many obstacles a lot smoother than this one.If that’s the investment for forever then we’re already halfway done. Sending prayers support and understanding from another person waiting for their loved one.

no nvc case gets approved within a week not even with an expedite you’re probably looking at adjustment of status posts way diffrent.

Yup, we've been waiting since Feb 16, 2024. Expecting to hear back maybe in late May or June based on the average processing time of 16.5 months for IR1/CR1 consular cases
